Lord of the Rings Trilogy Hits Blu-ray

In what is one of the most anticipated released on the Blu-ray format, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy is coming this December.

There is one caveat: the set coming is of the theatrical releases with barely any extras. Perfect for the general movie populace who are not huge fans, but the absolute fans will want to wait until 2012. This is when the ultimate versions of the movies will be coming on Blu-ray in a nice box set along with The Hobbit, the next movie in the series.

In the meantime you can get the original 1978 animated The Lord of the Rings on Blu-ray as well this year.
